allergy-senstative kid-approved convenience foods

Allergy-Sensitive Convenience Foods

While making items from scratch is the safest approach for allergies, there's a time and a place for convenience foods (and sanity in a busy world). We've tried many brands and brand offerings. I plan to use this space to collect and share some of our favorites.

Absolutely

A newly discovered brand, found at the Walmart Super center in Littleton, CO

Their flatbread crackers had zero hint of 'fake' or 'off', just tasted like a cracker should!

Gluten Free Devil's Food Cake Mix by Betty Crocker

Ready for a ridiculously delicious and easy chocolate cake?

I found this at King Soopers in the standard baking isle, not with the Gluten-Free items.

Daiya Foods

Best dairy & soy free cheese alternative

Comes in wedge, slices, shredded and now even cream cheese. Not all stores carry all varieties. Looking at their site, even more options exist than my local stores carry. For example, I hit Natural Grocers for the best price (used to be King Soopers) on the shredded and brick, but go to Sprouts for the slices and cream cheese.
When making pizza with the shredded, toss the cheese with a small amount of oil and Italian seasoning and then add to the pizza. Helps it melt better.
